Halong Bay Among World's Most Beautiful Destinations 2022

The list is varied, covering spectacular destinations in the world. "From towering cliffs to impossibly blue glacial lakes and picturesque villages to stunningly beautiful temples, the world is a truly spectacular place", the magazine wrote.

Halong Bay ranked 5th in the list and is one of the only two representatives from Southeast Asia along with the Angkor Wat temple complex in Cambodia.

Located in Quang Ninh Province, up in the northeast Vietnam, Halong Bay is a well-known UNESCO heritage site in the world. According to The Travel, Halong Bay encompasses a dense scattering of over 1600 limestone karsts and islands covered by tropical trees, and a vast majority of the destinations are uninhabited and untouched. There are several ways to explore Halong Bay; the best one is to embark on a cruise sailing through the magnificent, mist-shrouded landscape. The most recommended places for visitors to explore are Thien Cung Cave and Surprise Cave offering sweeping views of jade-green waters.

Other destinations include Banff National Park (Canada), Bora Bora (French Polynesia), Patagonia (Chile), Salar de Uyuni (Bolivia), Santorini (Greece),  Yellowstone National Park (USA), and Venice (Italy). Zhangjiajie National Forest in China topped the list. It boasts the inspiration for the movie Avatar with hundreds of sandstone pillars.
